Steve Miller Band - Selections From The Vault, some great early and alternative takes of some his better known material. In my opinion I think he overworked some of the tracks that became the released versions.
This arrived today and first impressions are extremely positive. Great performance, excellent quality vinyl and superb sound too.
Graceland by Paul Simon is probably my favourite of his many excellent albums. As my LP12 is packed away at the moment, I’m playing the 25th anniversary CD edition.
The mighty Can’s debut album from 1969, here on mid 1970s United Artists vinyl…
Mary Osborne- A Girl and her Guitar some wonderful jazz guitar.
Garcia Peoples – Dodging Dues
Seven songs. Thirty-five minutes. Why such a huge buzz? Because this is Garcia Peoples, and Dodging Dues is an album quite unlike anything else you’ll hear. And it’s only just the middle of January!
Ozzy Osborne - Blizzard of Ozz
Mostly because I read something (about politics[1]) that made me think of ‘Diary of a Madman’ so I played a couple of tracks. I’d forgotten how good Randy Rhoads was. Ah… a lot of water’s flowed under the bridge since I first listened to this album, how can it possibly be over 40 years old?
[1] I think this is as close as I’m willing to get to moderation…
Feist is guest vocalist on 2 tracks on the Kings of Convenience Peace Or Love CD I posted earlier.
I was lucky enough to see Randy Rhoads with Ozzy on 2 occasions- phenomenal guitarist
