A truly remarkable vocal performance by Ms Simone on this one, recorded in 1966 at the Newport Jazz Festival. I think this is the best archival jazz release of the year so far. On thew black stuff:

Another magnificent album from The Clientele one of Londons best kept secrets not a bad release in their career thus far. Hearing some of these new songs last night was a delight. Alasdair’s voice is just as good live as recorded.
