Playing on CD only 37 mins long but so relaxing and the last track Crying Eyes is just so sad and beautiful and moving
Speaking of originals vs remasters, this mono reissue is mighty fine, although my US original stereo is admittedly a little bit Rice Krispies so…
Excellent Rhino Elektra 50th Anniversary release cut by Ian Sefchick.
Carpenters. Singles 1969-1981
Wanted some easy listening in the background while I do things. Can’t remember who recommended this. Possibly @AndyP but not sure.
Listening to this. Why?
Prompted by the other thread about distorted sound on a WS CD, I thought I would widen my Shorter library. Classic Series but really pleased with the quality. Run through on the Project RCM and spinning nicely.
Galen & Paul - Can We Do Tomorrow Another Day?
Turns this rainy day into instant sunshine and it just needed to be played

Yacht Rock! :-)))
Saw a clip of Sinead O’connor’s funeral on the news.
She was a fan of Roots Reggae, I think she took inspiration and recorded some great authentic sounding covers, particularly of Burning Spear.
Natural Mystic was playing from speakers on the roof of one of the courtege vehicles with the Red, Gold & Green flag alongside an LGBTQ flag.
So I’m playing this in her honour
RIP & Respect Sinead O’Connor

The film gets most of the story about right, but the ending was changed for some reason, instead of drowning off a rowing boat the film has Jimmy riding his scooter off the cliffs near beach head. Obviously took a few takes as you can see multiple tyre tracks in the grass from the aerial shots.
I lived nearby and remember the filming, this was during the time of the mod revival and I think the film was timed to cash in. I had friends who were into the mod thing, scooters etc and volunteered as extras.

Chemistry Is What We Are by Simian. Released in 2000 and I played it to death when it came out but haven’t listened to it for years. Wonderful English pastoral psychedelic pop with a very strong early Pink Floyd influence . James Ford and Jas Shaw later formed Simian Mobile Disco and James Ford became a much sought after uberproducer. He has just released his first solo album - The Hum - as James Ellis Ford and it is definitely worth a listen:
