A bit of easy listening for a Friday evening
Lighthouse Family - The Very Best Of
The whitest Boy Alive. Dreams. 2006.
Erlend Øye, otherwise known as one half of Kings of Convenience. @GeoffC
An interesting album from Colin Bass of Camel, nice bass playing against the piano and synth of Daniel Biro.
I’m failing miserably at getting enough of the Fabs these days … Abbey Rd succumbing to another spin
I was just reading a bit of news earlier about Shane McGowan. The lad is being allowed home for Christmas, so I just had to play this magnificent album of his.
Turning 47 tomorrow - recorded on 25/11/76. Great concert!
Phil Collins: Face Value
First play of Mr. Collins solo debut in many years and I’m hard pressed to think of many albums that are able to use a horn section so well. The 96-24 Qobuz 2016 remaster is doing great justice to this work, the drumming in particular, making Face Value a joy to revisit.
World class drummer and Giblin on bass, no wonder its good
For lovers of acoustic texture: cello, violin and grand piano, this album will be a listening experience
Rémi Fay on Qobuz / Apple Music
It’s mellow, well recorded and features no catchy tunes. A listening experience, not ‘musical’ per se.
Funambulist: No. 2 is probably the standout track.
For those with high end kit, I’m sure it will be magnificent - it is impressive enough on my more modest setup.
Enjoy!
Found this a bit challenging at the time. Sounds pretty tuneful when I play it now. CD rip.
