one of rocks great voices for me
Seeing her again on March 9th @ The Symphony Hall Birmingham. She is, without doubt, one of my all time favourites and I absolutely love her live shows.
Caravan - Diss, Norfolk 12/6/99
This is one of the best live albums from the Who Do You Think We Are box set. The lineup is:
Pye Hastings - Guitar, Vocals
Richard Coughlan - Drums
Geoff Richardson - Viola, Mandolin, Flute etc.
David Sinclair - Keyboards
Jim Leverton - Bass
Simon Bentall - Percussion
Doug Boyle - Lead Guitar
I really like what Doug brings to the sound and energy of the band.
Looking at the sleeve image of the bald heads, I can’t help being reminded of the view at any typical HiFi show.
Oscar Peterson Trio - On The Town - 1958
Great live album to join in with the OP appreciation society. Herb Ellis/Ray Brown making up the trio.
The New Tony Williams Lifetime Believe It / 2004 Columbia / EU CD / 5128982
Tony Williams Drums
Allan Holdsworth Guitar
Tony Newton Bass
Alan Pasqua Piano, Clavinet
Röyksopp - Melody A.M.
Don’t panic Captain Mainwaring! I unfortunately don’t have a 2002 Banksy hand-painted original LP, merely the CD bought in 2001.
Might tee up some of their later albums at some point as not heard them yet. Really like the first two though.
Pat Metheny Group Still Life (Talking) / 2011 Nonesuch / US CD / 799482
Brightening up a dull day with an excellent PMG recording.
Beck - Sea Change, 2016 reissue, on vinyl…
The Move - Move - 1968
That ELO album by @apye reminded me to give the earlier group a play, no Jeff Lyne at this point though, he turns up in 1970.
Earlier, The Afternoon Play on BBC R4, a tale of the early days of Scotland’s Home Rule movement. It was all there, class, romanticism, common cause, empire, colonialism, and even the hint of romance too.
Easily findable, though the Beeb call it the Drama.
