Just heard the news that Fabian aka Faybiene Miranda has passed away.
She won’t be a household name to many, but for the Roots Reggae fraternity she cut one of the all time best and powerful Roots tunes ever. Her debut recording was immediately banned by a twitchy 70’s JA government, the song is about Marcus Garvey but the government feared Fabian’s revolutionary calling. The ban did her no harm though as the tune is an unforgettable Roots anthem.
