I’m rediscovering my ECM collection, now I’ve again got speakers that can portray double bass well. This Andy Sheppard album is excellent.

Hi @DrDavid, I believe the mystery song is " I Feel Like A Bullet ( In The Gun Of Robert Ford ), a song originally found on the Rock Of The Westies LP. Nice tapes

‘Back in the Day’ this was the go to album for several HiFi dems, and I recall it was well recorded and I’m assuming well pressed. Not necessary to be a Dire Straits fan to appreciate its use.

I can’t play my old vinyl copy at mo! Waiting for new stylus for my Ortofon 2M Black - upping it to a LVB 250! But yes the old un’s a good un! I could always cheat and change the artwork on the Core?

I had this in 1974 on cassette unfortunately a magnet came into contact with the tape producing a strange high pitch whooping - when I play the album even today I still prepare myself for the damaged section.
One of my favourite albums. I think the Metrobolist is a great remix of the album.
