Gong - Angels Egg - Tidal 16/44
Part 2 of the Radio Gnome trilogy, more space rock prog psychedelia goodness continuing the mythology. Here the Pot Head Pixies explain to Zero how their flying teapots fly (Glidding), and Zero learns that he is to organise a Great Melting Feest of Freeks in which everyone’s third eye will be activated. Spacy rock in every way.
Gong - You! - Tidal 16/44
And the final part of the trilogy, yet more space rock psychedelia with added music hall, another great weird rock album. In this Zero returns to Earth from Planet Gong and organises the Great Melting Feast of Freeks, I won’t spoil the ending.
My favourite Floyd album. Also, a favourite of Nick Mason. Recorded in a few weeks for the film La Vallee at the same time as Dark Side of the Moon.
It’s got that raw unpolished edge with some scorching guitar playing from Dave Gilmour as on The Gold, It’s in the … and one of his best on Mudmen and what a solo on Free Four.
The album contains the beautiful Rick Wright vocal on Stay.
Hello Alan. I’ve got about 2000 cds but only noticed 2 with corrosion problems. Harvest and Talk is cheap. Both replaced . Slowly ripping them all to the Core as back up. Still love the cd format though.
