Now playing…

Fink - Bloom Innocent - Acoustic

Fin Greenall (Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Piano, Percussion, Bow, Cajon, DAF, Fender Rhodes), Tim Thornton (Acoustic Guitar, Percussion, Piano, Vocals) and Guy Whittaker (Fretless Acoustic Bass, Percussion, Vocals).

Streaming on Qobuz (48/24)… returning from an afternoon walk with my wife around Green Lake and sitting down with a tall glass of water, a sandwich and Fink’s ‘Bloom Innocent - Acoustic’ album and he and the band are sounding sublime!

Dug into my CD archives tonight and this one (unplayed for decades) brought back fond memories of early Uni days (one of my Halls’ mates played this every Friday evening on his Hi Fi in prep for student night out down the Union Bar). Nice high energy album full blast on his KEF Codas (remember them?!).

Rooted it out on Qobuz and sounds wonderful (bit synthy but great voice, energy and emotive music).
Very sad she passed away relatively young at 52.
I fell short of digging out some leg warmers!
Love 80s music - great era for me!

Another one from the Uni archive. Actually heard them live on their debut album tour in Hull then bought the LP. Should be somewhere in my modest vinyl collection IIRC.

Great northern band of their time - late ‘80s.

No TT any longer so “making do” with this stream…
