The Wynton Kelly Trio, who were Miles Davis’ rhythm section from 1959 to ‘63, also played on this seminal and very enjoyable 1965 Wes Montgomery album.
This is the long version of that album which has 11 tracks rather than just the five that were on the original version.
Three of the 5 tracks on the original version were recorded in the same year at Van Gelder Studios in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey - so really that original album was only 2/5 live - it was mainly smokin’ at Rudy’s place.
