Jim Gailloreto’s Split Decision Shadow Puppets / 2004 naim / UK CD / naimcd076
Sigur Rós - Átta
Giving it another spin to see if it stirs anything this time as earlier listens never really grabbed me.
Prompted by seeing those fantastic guitarists posted up earlier … Gabor/King/SRV
Some live Roy Buchanan from a 1976 concert.
What am i listening to in 2024,well Naims streaming service provider V,tuner went down Christmas Day, not even an apology from Naim, totally shocking
This thread?
Listening and watching. Brilliant documentary on Paramount Plus charting the rise, demise and journey “back up the mountain” to where they are today. The friendship between Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill is quite moving.
Could come as easily from The Appalachian Mountains as the UK folk scene. Simmonds was in The Men They Couldn’t Hang (not played them for years) & Bedford sang and wrote ‘Funny Break’ by Orbital apparently. Andy Summers & Justin Currie (Del Amitri) also pop by. CD rip.
Why would Niam need to apologise? It was V tuner’s issue. It would be like my smart TV manufacturer apologising if Netflix went down worldwide.
Certainly not “Shocking” IMO

A 1964 7" EP from the marvelous Shake Keane bizarrely with the Hastings Girls Choir on the A side and the Gordon Langford Orchestra on the reverse. It was in a donation of singles that came into the Oxfam Shop - I saw the Girls Choir and was about to chuck it until I noticed Shake’s name - surely not! As you can imagine not his best but seems to be worth a few bob so will be going on the on-line shop next week.
Absolutely agree Charles. I have all their albums and More Songs is up there amount their best!
All Saints. Saints and Sinners CD. A girl band for grown ups? Some great songs imho.
Some terrific William Orbit production on show as well
