I had just turned 15 when this was released, I probably used my Saturday job earnings at Littlewoods supermarket to buy it. I still have that copy, sleeve battered but record still plays just fine. The band were on their uppers when they wrote this album it saved their A&M contract. I still think it is their best, I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to it but I never tire of it, it’s a masterpiece.
