Delius - England’s very own early 20th century impressionist composer. Lovely recording by Sir Charles Mackerras and the WNO Orchestra
Stud - September
Rory Gallagher’s Taste rhythm section with Jim Cregan later a Rod Stewart band stalwart and John Weider from Medicine Head.
Another wonderful British band from that glorious early 70’s period.
If there was to be an entry in the OED for the term “classic rock” it would say “Montrose”
Montrose: self titled debut album (1973)
Beyond compare. Sammy Hagar is awesome here.
Also revisiting some recent vocal finds in 24/192. The clarity of vocals and definition on the basslines……
My favourite and the best Bob Dylan album.
As it says on the album cover ‘Cast iron songs and torch ballads’.
Backed by the band with some super guitar playing by Robbie Robertson especially on Going Going Gone.
I’m on tenterhooks, wondering what you’re going to settle on, @QuickSticks! I think I might have one more set of speakers left in the budget. Keep us informed, please!
Mellifluous, soothing music to end a day of continuous rain. Uniti Core.
Had the 200 system shut down for a while, been here and there, and there’s been a lot of thunder about. Warming it up with a few classics.
Oh, missed this!
What an awful thing to happen. Very sorry for your loss.
I love Delius, even though he’s very out of fashion these days. Someone once described his music as “an impressionist painting of Romney Marsh”
