Ahh. No, not Finnish.
A-Fin is actually my Scottish clan motto from the Ogilvie Clan. It translates as, “To the end”.

I see, I thought you might live in Finland where I visit regularly - thanks for the reply ![]()
Matthew Sweet - Altered Beast
An absolute stellar cast of musicians on this album. Nicky Hopkins, Robert Quine, Robert Lloyd, Ivan Julian, Mick Fleetwood, Pete Thomas and Byrone Berlin.
Robert Lloyd produces a guitar part on the track Ugly Truth Rock that is equal to anything he did in Television. It weaves and digs in deep then unravels - what a piece of guitar playing.
Matthew Sweet top of his game and as per Track 8 - he’s a god now.
Hi AndyP,didn’t know about this album for some reason, have got several Sweet albums,so on your recommendation, have just ordered it for the princely sum of £3 !
Tippets/Driscoll is difficult to categorise I always think but this album & 1969 are particularly good. Uniti Core.
Every track on Altered Beast is solid gold.
Just to have an album with Robert Quine, Ivan Julian and Robert Lloyd is a thing to behold.
Interesting comparisons to the Rolling Stones Let It Bleed.
Country Honk with Byrone Berlin on violin and a rock version Honk Tonk Women.
Here we get Byrone Berlin on The Ugly Truth and a rock version Ugly Truth Rock.
Also, Nicky Hopkins plays on both albums.
As I’m typing,sax/guitar solos playing on Sweet Thing, amazing ,on Sigma cd.Altered Beasts should arrive tomorrow, looking forward to it.
If you like Sweet Thing the album to complement that track is Ava and the Astronettes - if you know that one.
Don’t know that ,but will check it out, cheers Andy.
Yes essential purchase - an interesting part of Bowie’s career.
Have downloaded, will search tomorrow for a physical copy👍
Various different cover art sleeves around - about £9 on the Amazonian River.
First place I looked,currently unavailable.
Edit, checked track listing,it is on the river, different artwork and title, cheers Andy.
Ordered £8.50,cheers .
