If you exclude The Grumbleweeds, Gof4 are Leeds’ and arguably ‘post punk’s’ finest musical offering. King’s lyrics and Gill’s abrasive guitar were something special. Great album.

An outstanding debut. An outstanding band and in Lowell George in particular a musician of the finest pedigree. Seems to sail under the radar as a guitarist (his singing & songwriting getting the accolades) despite wrenching as much emotion out of his guitar as any of his contemporaries imo. Uniti Core.

Now on to Blondie and their late (excellent) drummer. This is the EMI 100 vinyl version, “analogue cut from analogue tapes”… How good is “Fade Away And Radiate”?

Children of Bodom ; Stockholm Knockout Live (2006. CD rip)

As much as I like prog, stoner, space rock etc, there at times when it just has to be pure metal, and here is some seriously fast manic melodic death metal. Although Alexi Laiho’s vocals are sometimes barely discernible, man could he write a catchy riff and play the guitar.

This live one was recorded in 2006 when touring the “Are You Dead Yet” album and I saw them that year on a bill with Mastodon (who opened), Lamb of God, headliners were the mighty Slayer. What a night

Of course that could explain my tinnitus!!!

Not everyone’s cup of tea I understand, but if you want a slice of Finnish Death Metal, you could do a lot worse. I hadn’t played them in a while and I had forgotten what a blast they were. Needless to say, I am using headphones, in the interest of family harmony….

RIP Alexi, gone way too early at 41.

New album / artist to me via Spotify AI (although I’m sure I’ve seen the album cover somewhere , maybe in here with that beauty on there).

Must have something to it as just done seasons best 20min Watt Bike time trial.

6.5 air and 1 mag resistance on Watt Bike Pro for any other Watt bikers out there.

But sweary towards the end but I’m in my own so all good.
