What are you listening to in 2025 and why might anyone be interested?

Last CD of the ‘Miles 65-68’ box. Just the tracks with the Hancock/Carter team, including the masterpiece that is ‘Tout de Suite’.

Great photo of Betty Mabry on the sleeve.

Doobie Brothers. Toulouse street.
For no good reason I don’t own any of their albums but following recent radio interview decided to revisit their back catalogue starting with this second album. Qobuz.

It’s in the queue. Even with a collection of around 2000 cds it’s amazing how many gaps there are.

ReR Megacorp Records

Uwe Nettelbeck’s merry band of avant pranksters and their debut album on the recently minted Virgin Records label. It was famously sold at a fixed price of 48p on release which tempted many buyers into a speculative purchase. The record itself is a pretty wild ride taking in psychedelic Krautrock, sound collage, musique concrète, free jazz and a multitude of other disciplines.

First listen to this live recording from 1977. Not a good quality recording, but being a fan of EJ, particularly his earlier work, I am enjoying the stripped back rawness of this. Elton expressing himself well in both words and his playing.
