Espen Eriksen Trio - Almost There
Nice new release from these guys - excellent production as usual.
(Love their album artwork !)
Tony Williams sophomore 1966 release as bandleader - Spring. Fantastic band (Shorter, Rivers, Hancock & Peacock), tremendous playing but perhaps doesn’t quite hit the spot. US Blue Note early 70s reissue.
The Beatles - Rubber Soul (2026 remix)
Astonishing! This is SO much better than I was expecting. My original copy, from the late ‘70s I guess, is really clean and a great demo disc, but this is an order of magnitude better. It’s in realistic stereo and it’s possible to hear much more detail. I do, however, have this fear that after a few plays it might become too much and I’ll drift back to my old copy or even the 2009 CD. For now it’s perfect, but we shall see.
Afternoon folks, first proper post for quite some time.
A short session in the Kabin this afternoon, that started gently but certainly didn’t finish that way![]()
…and just goes to show that Rush is not all that’s played in this corner of Cambridgeshire
A couple of great albums from Rick Lee Jones. I saw her play for the first time, in Manchester earlier this year. It was a great evening..
Allman Brothers. 1973. First heard this when someone was playing it at school well over 50 years ago. Still great imho.
Seems to be getting a lot of love at the moment so dug out my original 2CD version. Great stuff. The debut album (Maya) ain’t too shabby either.
Probably my favourite killers album not a bad track from start to finish ![]()
Hey I flew up to Lhasa in May this year with my son, and got the train back - two days Soft sleeper to Beijing…
Amazing journey across a yak-strewn High altitude desert landscape.
Just listening to this brilliant track, off a brilliant album, of a brilliant concert at the Montreaux Festival.
6 o’ da besht!
Went to the record shop today and picked these up placebo came in white vinyl and a free 7” single also in white vinyl haven’t bought anything for a little while so was quite pleased with what I got ![]()
Myrkur (Amalie Bruun), Touch My Love And Die (2026) played a few singles today, they tend to the folkish. Qobuz.
I’ve got the original of that on vinyl and probably CD … brilliant drumming and music in general.
I never tire of that album.
Is this new version of it better or worse or the same?
