What are you listening to in 2026 and why might anyone be interested?

Back to UNKLE and the excellent Ronin I album. I subscribe to James Lavelle’s monthly newsletter and he mentioned he’s going back into the studio later this month. Fingers crossed that’s to start a new album :crossed_fingers:

Forgotten Melodies is Alexander Malofeev’s debut recording of works by four Russian composers: Mikhail Glinka, Nikolai Medtner, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Alexander Glazunov. Each left Russia and spent time in Berlin where the young Malofeev is now based. Sony CD.

Mermaid Chunky - Slif Slaf Slof (2024). Stroud’s finest, arty, ravey, brilliant. Been wanting to see them for ever, and they are playing Oxford on Saturday. Alas I will be in Brussels, celebrating my 70th (a little prematurely), so will have to console myself with waffles and beer.

Joining you Garry in remembrance to Chris on what would have been his Birthday.
A sad loss such a humble and nice guy.No big ego and the fact that he always refused to tour America even though it would have generated more income through albums sales.I admired his principles.

The Smile - Cutouts. I really must get their other two albums on vinyl as well. They’ve amassed a great collection of songs in a very short space of time.

Cheers Ian, he always came across as a nice, down to earth guy, still can’t believe he’s gone.
