Tool | Opiate | 1992

I fancied a quick burst from Tool and this wee EP is doing the job! Bl**dy hell is it really 34 years old!?

Now playing…

Lars Danielsson - Tarantella

Lars Danielsson (Cello, Double Bass, Bass Violin), Eric Harland (Drums, Percussion), John Parricelli (Guitar), Leszek Możdżer (Celeste, Harpsichord, Piano) and Mathias Eick (Trumpet).

Streaming on Qobuz (88.2/24)… a mention/recommendation from @Christopher_M above had me place in the queue and now taking out for a spin and the music through the first two tracks are sounding sublime! Thank you Chris for the recommendation! Yes, Life is Sweet!

Tool | Ænima | 1996

Going from their first official release an EP (Opiate), to their third release an 80 minute album (Ænima) lovely stuff as ever from Maynard James Keenan.

Mmm, think the McVie’s and Mr Fleetwood would like a word.

Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton - Play The Blues: Live From Jazz at Lincoln Center, interesting collaboration, but perhaps the visuals on the accompanying DVD, are a more suitable way to enjoy the concert.

Cycled from Botony Bay (the one in Kent not Australia) to Herne Bay - birth place of Kevin Ayers.

When I started browsing and buying records, this one always seemed exotic but alas my paper round money would only go so far.

First heard this when I was in the sixth form (around 1970), and my mate Nick brought it into school to play at lunchtime.
