That brings back a lot of memories, recording from Radio One, unfortunately I only have have a few, and certainly nothing to play them back on.
Having a folk moment
Barry Dransfield - S/T (1972)
Followed by:
Nic Jones - Penguin Eggs (1980).
I used to have a cassette copy of Nic’s “From the Devil to a Stranger”, long lost. Vinyl is silly money, and there’s no digital. Anyone have a copy?
I might not have anything to play them on soon - the tape drawer open/close mechanism was making some rather weird noises and I only managed to get it to load by using the play button instead. Mmm…
Wanda Jackson - Greatest Hits - Vinyl. The Queen of Rockabilly does country. The purity of old recordings without fancy studio trickery is refreshing.
That definitely doesn’t sound good, I miss using cassettes.
Indigo Girls - Back On The Bus Y’all - Live - Vinyl. They certainly know how to crank up the emotion!
Here you go
Ah, no. I was referring to From the Devil… The masters and the copyright were held by Dave Bulmer, who wouldn’t release them, along with much more folk music. A crime. He’s dead now, but there doesn’t seem to be any movement
Ah yes I see sorry.
Indigo Girls - Self Titled - Vinyl. Introduced to Indigo Girls by my sister in law at the time of release and it’s remained a firm favourite ever since. Superb SQ. The moment Stipe arrives on Kid Fears is just perfect. Interplay of the 3 voices is wonderful.
@Rigsby21 OK if you really really want a copy then there is a way - and there is always a way.
On YouTube are the tracks or what looks like most of them. You need to find a piece of free software that rips the audio from a YouTube clip ( there are plenty of them).
Then drop these into your computers cd ripper and make a cd. Download the artwork and there you are.
