I’ve just ordered the back catalogue at -50% and look forward to receiving the CDs. I see they use the same recording / mastering team as ECM. The sound quality is really special.
I hope you enjoy it.

Sun Ra
Sleeping Beauty
1979 (2017 reissue)
Art Yard Records
More Ra goes through the Humminguru ultrasonic cleaner then gets a listen. This album was the follow up to the acclaimed Lanquidity which was released the year before and is often mentioned in the same conversation as that record due to its fusion-adjacent sound.
Really enjoying this and other albums from her back catalogue. A great find and a new artist to me. Thanks for posting ![]()
Chilling after a long walk fancied something Germanic - not Can for once - what better than the psych/prog/ folk/ambient/thrash of Amon Duul II and 1969s Phallus Dei. Pretty influential I’d say. Early 70s Sunset reissue.
Roger O’Donnell - Projections (2025)
I enjoyed watching his Naim videos last year (Naim lounge), which led me to play his previous album (7 Different Words for Love) a few times and I’ve just come across this one, his latest. Chilled out ambient electronica.
I have this on original “vinyl” and I’m old enough to still call this an LP. Amon Duul 2 are one of my favourites, Dance of the Lemmings is probably my fave.
Luisa Sonza - Bossa Sempre Nova (2026). Caught my eye on the Qobuz new releases. Not going to set my world on fire, but a nice, gentle background as I knock up a squash curry and naans.
Phallus and Dance are both great albums, but let’s not neglect Wolf City. Surrounded by the Stars is Desert Island for me.
Cheers, got two for Christmas, this one and then another one that hangs on the wall and your slide the album in, which works better in the cabin. Takes more discipline to use that one, this one is dead handy, the other one takes extra effort over just leaning the cover against a rack, looks good though.
Agree about Wolf City and absolutely about Surrounded By The Stars ![]()
The Black Dog and The Wandering Boy - James McMurtry (2025)
Not his best imho but still very decent. South Texas Lawman is a great track.
Istanbul Sessions - Mahalle (2026). Another from the Qobuz new releases. Swedish/Turkish sax player Ilhan Ersahin and one of his numerous bands, a great mix of jazz, world and electronic beats. Groove driven stuff, well worth a play.
Last one before pub and football - it’s Hub time, Freddie Hubbard 1967 Backlash on Atlantic/Warners reissue from 2017ish. Cracking hard bop freeish set - always liked the trumpet flute front line.
