Second listen of the new’ish release from Cornelius. Available through bandcamp and streaming platforms. Good fun, lots of guitar and frenetic electronic playfulness and such. A good return to form.

True Foxes - Howl (2024). Cornish cousins Annie Parsons and Chloë Payne’s first album, alt.folk/Americana. Great harmonies, and a cracking band backing them up. Missed them when they played locally earlier this year, damnit.

I enjoyed this yesterday so much that got the vinyl. A new outfit called Giraffe with The Towering Inferno With Bongo Drums.

Sofie Birch - Bivabippabualukka (2026). Mutant bossa nova from the Danish composer/synthesist. She says of the album, “It is a pocket of joy, a cup with a fish”. Go figure. It’s certainly nice to chill out to on this rather dismal afternoon.

One of the cool things about buying used CDs is that you can see which discs the prior owner had in heavy rotation. For the last owner of this 21 disc set, it was these two. I can hear why.
