What beer are you drinking and WHY might anyone be interested?

I bought a four-pack of this earlkier, from the Japan Centre in London. A lot of fellow Japanophiles recommended I try this Suntory beer and I finally took the plunge. It’s really good, rather like a Czech pilsner with quite a lot of maltiness and a refreshing, dry and slightly bitter finish.

It’s getting stronger. I seem to remember that it had 13%. Now 14%. Cheers!

Thank you for the prompt, as a couple of bottles of TTLD slid down very well a couple of evenings ago.

I find the standard TTL a bit light. More exploration is required :grinning:

On a lovely balmy September evening, possibly the last summery day of the year, what better than a pint of Hop Back Summer Lightning? It’s brewed in Salisbury, home of a hifi company that some may be aware of, and is a beer that is often described as ‘dangerously drinkable’.

The Lord Raglan in Emsworth has recently changed from Fullers, so it has new beers, including this. It’s not in the ‘official’ glass, hence this Dark Star glass.

Summer Lightning is also a song by Ralph McTell. Can’t remember why but a few years back I sent him a picture of the beer after hearing him sing this song at one of his concerts. He sent me a very pleasant reply rather than asking if I had gone off my rocker.

It’s Real Ale Week at The Bandstand; meaning 8 pumps instead of the usual 5 at this time of the year.

And a mighty fine selection they’ve had so far, the Fyne Ales Golden Mild grabbing my taste buds in particular.

Cheers,

Ian

A bit meh.
Not bad!

Weissbier Cuvée. Occurs when you mistakenly open a warm beer, try to mix it drinkable with a chilled one and get the wrong beer. Still, not bad.

Very drinkable - as you would hope.
Although requires some skill to savour at 6%
