Last night’s selection at The Bandstand, Nairn, perfectly pulled by Mhairi.
I quenched my initial thirst with a Hurricane Jack, before moving on to the delicious Black Gold stout, brewed nearby in Aviemore.

Hi Ian! Yes! Mushrooms come from woods around here and are frozen fresh. I make my broth with beef. All creamed with butter and parmigiano……slow cooking……a treat to myself!

I completely agree with you, especially if things are done in the wrong order.
As a side note, until the late 1950s, people here in Austria often got a lighter punishment if they caused an accident while drunk, because they were seen as less responsible due to their condition.

Maisel & Friends Bavaria Ale – in a 750 ml bottle

A glass of Badger Ales Tanglefoot as we make a risotto, with Radio Paradise.
This was the beer at my family’s local. So I have grown up with it though it always tended to be regarded as for special occasions only.
Crisp and complex, really nicely balanced. Very Dorset. Which is sort of the beauty of beer.

An impromptu stop yesterday at The Havelock, Nairn, during my walk. The Titanic, First Class, was exceptional; a classic best bitter but with a lovely extra malty depth of flavour. Northern Rising, Unity Stout, was making its second appearance since Christmas and was also excellent.

All good beers at The Havelock, Nairn, but the Plum Porter was the only one I wanted to drink. I’m not a huge fan of fruit beer but Titanic do it so well, retaining the character of the Porter with a balanced sweetness from the plums. Facers brewery do a very nice Plum Porter, too.
