What does a blinking light on the SN3 volume knob mean?

The volume knob on my SN3 has a tiny white light which started to blink and continued to blink for about 5 minutes. During that time, my system lost sound. What does the blinking light mean?

A flashing volume control LED usually indicates that you have the pre-amp in program mode. This mode is where you can assign inputs or enable or disable AIS.
