What is the latest music you've downloaded where did you buy it and in what resolution?

Wanted some more string quartets.

Both in CD quality from Presto, I think Stamic and Stamitz are alternate spellings of the same quartet. Alternatively (and doubtful), Brilliant has Martinu cycles by both of them.
The metadata on the Dvorak is incomplete - no track numbers.

DSD from Qobuz. Despite, the cover art, the download includes Concertos 3 and 5 and Sonata No. 4.

Qobuz sublime to discount a pile of hires versions of Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis (second quartet) studio albums. Most at low prices. Most at 192/24. A few e.g.s

Plugging a significant hole in my collection. Enjoying the Herbie autobiography.

Also the Steven Wilson album in hires - looking forward to listening to that tonight.

I do find the sublime subscription worth it for the discounts if you remember to buy some downloads!

The problem is half the time we are getting conned if you look at what other sellers are pricing full price Hi Res at it’s a lot lower than Qobuz. So we should be getting a better sublime price.

Also, have you noticed how often the discounted price is £9.13

Another also - why don’t we get a sublime discount on 16 bit CD downloads.

The other half the time sublime is a great deal.

Yes I do try to shop around before I buy though I don’t usually find cheaper options - certainly not hdtracks. For new bands/musicians I try to check the band websites first so that more of the money goes to the artist. That is not always hires - for example I quickly checked the wilson website yesterday for the deal but it seemed to be 16/44 download so paid the extra for sublime 24/96 version. It is annoying that cd stuff is always full price! Where are the best alternatives from your perspective?

Always go to these sites during shop around:-
7digital
Boomkat
Juno Download
Bleep
Bandcamp (Sometimes great deals and now they specify the resolution - but tax is on top)
HighResAudio (they often have a discount on during holidays but rarely match Qobuz prices)
Presto (for jazz)
