This should be interesting for Faces fans, pulled from cassette tapes of their first recording session at Olympic studios and the Rolling Stones warehouse in Bermondsey. So predates any other material, is due out on 31 st October, Rhino records, titled Early Steps.
Apparently might have been released as part of an earlier box set?
Looking at the five of them and the talent on show I can imagine it will be excellent.
The 20th anniversary edition of the mighty Frapp’s Supernature – on 2 CD and Blu-ray, and triple vinyl. I would imagine the “surround mix” is the same one that’s on the 2005 SACD.
Remastered Prince album, the second disc includes new mixes, dance mixes and a variety of other stuff.
The second pic is of the Rolling Stones Black and Blue Super Deluxe set that is due out in Nov which contains Steven Wilson remix, unreleased outtakes and a 1976 Earls Court show.
Third pic is Drive By Truckers Definitive Decoration Day
Fourth pic is Frankie Goes to Hollywood set contains, remastered original album, demos, outtake, BBC John Peel show along with other BBC tracks and unreleased material.
The Soft Cell set features a remastered version of the album 36 unreleased trax, B sides, rarities, remixes as well as some audio from live TV appearances.
Those are boots, aren’t they?
Yep Kevin. I would imagine you already have the Floyd set
These are just some of the releases due out in Oct.
The pic of the Man with the young child is the new Tame Impala album.
The King Crimson set comes with a whole load of extras.
I will post some Nov releases later.
I was at school when Mingus at Monterey came out. My friend ordered a copy direct from the Mingus mail order operation in the US. It arrived eventually and we eagerly listened. Unfortunately my main memory is of how warped the albums were.
I’ve heard that copies sent on that direct mail operation came with a signed note from the man himself. My copy of the Mingus at Monterey is the slightly later Fantasy pressing but I do have an original 2LP of the ‘Music Written For Monterey 1965…’ put out by Charles Mingus Enterprises. No letter, alas (remaining stored copies of this set were destroyed when they went into liquidation apparently).
Mosaic also put out a nice CD box with all of this music, licensed from Sue Mingus.
