I have just upgraded from a nac 72 180 serviced 4 years ago by naim and a hicap dr to a nac 52 supercap and a 250 olive series, to the best of my knowledge they have never been serviced since new ( 1982 for 52 1983 supercap and 1999 for 250 ) when I got the 72 180 done there was an improvement, how much difference will I get when servicing the 52 supercap and 250, so far I think the 180 had a better midrange but the 250 wins in all other aspects as for the 72 yeah the 52 is just better but not by much, I am hoping that a service will sort that out, does anyone know how much the current price list for servicing and recapping by naim? Contact Naim direct for pricing, or a dealer. Dealers have to send them in to Naim. Alternatively use Darren at Class A Audio. Make sure the 52 and the power supply are both serviced if they due. It makes a big difference.
Having gone from 72/Hi to 52/Super some years ago the difference should be very clear, although one of the great things with the 52 is it is not ‘in your face’ but just a fantastic window onto the music, a lovely organic sound. One of the few bits of kit I regretted selling for a long time.

While the Nac 72 and Nap 180 are good, the Nac 52 and Nap 250 are significantly better. You will notice a major upgrade when serviced.

Thatnk you rang naim this morning £399 for the 52 £349 for both the supercap and 250, the 250 has never been serviced well not by naim at least but the 52 and supercap were serviced in 2012 but do need doing again, The boes that the 52 and supercap came in are the wrong boxes and have no polystyrene inserts so need to get them as well tjey cost between £80 - £100 each thank you again for all the help
