I would have thought the cable lifters would be much more uncomfortable in daily use……. ![]()

You could just write the word Nordost on them and then they’d magically be the ultimate upgrade.
That’s so bad
Actually I do like Nordost cables a lot, can’t comment about their cable lifter. Maybe it’s worth it, maybe not.
Love to see your Thorens! I had a phonophie no 2 in the 90s. Might be based on a similar model. The se tt are so good.
Great - if you had a shitty day … all sounds fine ![]()

What gives you that impression from me Mickey?
Good piece of meat at a stratospheric price. So good cooker and good robber in the same time.
Just got these but will return them. Fit is a big step up but unfortunatly the sound is a big step down. Huge V-shape on the signature overloading bass and treble. Gen 2 is much more neutral and you can listen for longer not overthinking how it sounds. Big dissapointment soundwise. Maybe they installed 3.11? @drago
You mean because we all deliver such reptilian-fast and snappy lines, Mike? Yes, you’re absolutely right about that ![]()

Maybe give them time to run in?
My first thought but google shows me a lot of people have the same view so likely not a question about burn in. It’s too far off.
I am lost guys. Can’t understand this discussion, sorry.
It’s a joke that a few of you post hi-end systems from the internet - a bit like the social media “influencers” do on other subjects.
be interested to know how you find the mat and puck - what effect do they have? do you have to adjust the arm for the thickness of the mat?
thanks
So far, i have just used them in combination and there seems to be a quieter sound. By that i mean less noise, (both surface and electrical hash if that makes sense) allowing you to hear quieter details with more clarity. I’ve not adjusted the arm as the original mat is 3mm and specs say that the stack is the same. (Although it is thinner there are the four little dots adding to the thickness)
So far so good, i’ll give it a few more days and then start to play around with different combinations.
thanks for your initial thoughts be interested to hear the effect of using them separately
Expecting delivery in a day-or-two of a pretty big upgrade that I’d never thought I’d have the opportunity to make. Let’s say it’s an Everest-sized upgrade.
