Thanks Ian,
The Dali’s may also appear white, but they have a light-oak cabinet and beige/sandy coloured front.

Just unboxed and installed today. PMC Prophecy 9s. This is my third pair of transmission line speakers I have owned over the last 47 years and probably will be my last. Just registered them for a 20 year warranty. Bob has never sounded so good.
Just completed a new set of alternative wood panels for my Aegis headphone amp…. Raw planks can from Surrey Timber. Original panels were Wenge, new ones are Black Limba. Very happy with the new alternative look… swap around when I fancy a change. I would love some Pale Moon Ebony but not found the right panels so far.
The original Wenge
The Black Limba
Nice but the Wenge finish is more classy imo.
Oh yeah… two different styles was the intention. It’s easy to swap so I was going for two polar opposites and will probably swap around, summer / winter type of thing… or, when I fancy a change ![]()
Really enjoying my NAP 250 & NSC 222 pairing which I recently bought ‘Grade A’ refurbished for £7300.
I finished my personal music server build (used as a 2-box source with my trusty Holo Spring3 KTE R2R DAC). It is really a quite simple build: power supply, motherboard and two PCI-cards. No fans, no disks, no soldering and no drilling. But at EUR 4.000 not a budget build but was always intended as a build for my ears from the ground up ![]()
As my assistant I used SuperGrok AI in Expert mode which helped me out keeping the build electrically quiet, keeping EMI low and keeping track of optimizations. This system runs Audirvana (local playback, Qobuz, Tidal, Presto Music, radio and podcasts) and the user-interface runs on an old iPad Air M1. An AppleTV with an old reclocker connects to the BNC SPDIF input on the DAC.
The system is optimized to always load software from system memory (RAMRoot), use fixed allocation of cpu-cores and to disable motherboard features like audio, networking, bluetooth, graphics, SATA and various bits and bobs. The software used is AudioLinux v3 headless + the new Audirvana Studio v3 Core which was optimized to use integer mode, exclusive system control and large IO-buffer allocation.
As for hardware I used a HDPlex HD3 case with the included CPU cooler and the HDPlex HiFi DC to ATX converter withe the DC supplied by an external LHY linear 19VDC PS. This powers the MSI mATX motherboard (i3-12100T, 64Gb system RAM and 2 x 4Tb M.2 PCIe SSDs (one for apps and backup, the other for music)) and an Intel i350-T2 PCI network adapter.
The output is via the second PCI-card, a JCAT USB Card XE EVO, which has its own external LHY linear 5VDC LPS.
Top and bottom boxes new to me - 252 & Supercap DR to replace the 272 (that served me very well). It’s gently warming up now for a proper listen later - but I’ve already heard some new details and stuff.
I’ll probably spilt the system to two columns of three in due course. The rear elevation is not pretty!
That seems quite complicated jan
I use a Cambridge Audio MXN10 as my streamer and it sounds excellent into my XS3 amp and then out to the ATC 19 speakers via NACA5 cable
Just added a Glanz MH-10B as second tonearm.
I tried the SPU Royal N with the Kuzma 4point9 tonearm for a while, but was not really convinced: sometimes this sounded great, sometimes not so much.
Now with the SPU Royal N in a ziricote wood headshell (by Stanley Engineering) with the Glanz sounds very harmonious - in hindsight the SPU was a mismatch for the Kuzma arm.
The Dynavector 10x5 neo II on the other hand seems a very good match with the Kuzma arm.
How long have you had the ND9? I assume it’s a great fit with the Phono Stage of the SN3?
Getting a short list of MM’s to audition when my Umami Blue wears out
Hi, I’ve had the ND9 since early January '26. If you have a P8 and a Supernait 3, it’s probably as close as you can get to a perfect fit sound-wise. Please let us know what you end up with for your replacement cartridge."
Yes I wouldn’t swap the the Jupiter caps for anything else, they are definitely something special.
I’ve only used the Cosmos, but… ![]()
I use Sikorel for power supply decoupling. They are no longer manufactured, but shelf and service live are ridiculously long, buying used or NOS isn’t a problem.
Nice system.
I have the DP3000NE, very pleased with it. It just sounds right, I’m listening to a lot more music.
However, a few months ago I bought a 2.6mm carbon fibre spacer for the DL103R I’m using, from a company called Stanley Engineering in Germany. I was surprised by the level of SQ improvement. Best £24 I’ve ever spent.
I’m contemplating buying a Denon CD player, how does the 3000ne cd player compare to the turntable.
The TT is pretty nice indeed. I’ve never been a Technics fan, so while they share similarities, the Denon for me is just a better fit, especially in the looks department. I do really like the ease of arm adjustability as well, just a nice all around package, no complaints so far.
Comparing the TT against the CD player is a tough one for me, as analog hasn’t been my main source for quite awhile, streaming/digital has been my thing. The CD player is very good, has a solid grip on the music, very much like my amplifier, PMA-3000NE, smooth, yet delivers in bass end too. A very good reference player at its price point. Denon CD players have always been very good sounding to my ears, and always have done well for whatever price point they are in.
Comparing TT to CD just too many possibilities with analog, setup, cartridge etc. to make any meaningful comparisons in a way. They just both are very good for what they are. I enjoy them both equally. In some ways, I am more amazed how well the DL-103 does for its relative pricing. It has always been a good all around cartridge, and just works so well in the DP-3000NE TT, as it should, pretty much made for each other.
Not much help in the comparison department here really! I’d say if you can get a listen to the CD player, very worthwhile in my opinion.
Hi,
if my memory is right, Fischer & Tausche have an agreement to manufacture some Sikorels. They are branded F&T and look virtually the same as the Siemens/Epcos, at least from the outside. You can see them in some of the Brinkmann electronics.
I love everything about that system. It looks very enjoyable.
Thank you! I appreciate that very much. It is just a very enjoyable set up!
Swapped out a Marantz CD5005 for a used CDX2 + XPS2. Blind comparison vs ND5 XS2, switching handled by my daughter.
Used Patricia Barber — Companion, Black Magic Woman. (Premonition/Blue Note) vs Qobuz FLAC 16/44.1.
CDX2 + XPS2: wider soundstage, more excitement and engagement.
ND5 XS2: sound more centered. I was perfectly happy with my ND5 XS2 until now!
Thanks for the CD player feedback.
I’ve been using a DL103 for the last 10 years or so, so as you say buying the Denon turntable was the obvious choice.
With regards to arm adjustment. I know some people won’t approve, but I’ve actually varied the arm height while playing a record.
