What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2026?

Cold out of the box

Yes please! I would need a Nait 500 though.

Not if active!

What is it?

I wish people would say what they’re posting, when it isn’t obvious (like Naim gear).

Just arrived. Playing my second album on it (Bill Frisell, East/West) since turning it on

It’s almost as though your turntable is looking down on it. :slightly_smiling_face:

The display on the DAC keeps changing to say, “I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!”

Excellent JDP, any initial thoughts on the sound?I realize it needs some hours on it, but a lot of times I find new gear sounds great out of the box. Remind me if you have any fancy cables or switches between your NUC and the Dac?

The DAC is cold and not broken in but initial impressions are really quite good. It sounds much better, less digital, than the NDX2 so far. The Weiss also has DSP with a vinyl emulation mode. I will try that later after the DAC has a chance to burn in a bit. This is a very impressive DAC, from the start.

My NUC (Roon ROCK) connects to a Cisco 2960G switch (connected to the fiber service router) on the 1st floor. That switch connects to a Belden Cat6a cable to the second floor. From there a Blue Jeans Cable (BJC) 12’ Cat6 cable to another Cisco 2960G switch on the 2nd floor. From that 2nd floor switch a 75’ BJC Cat6 runs thru the attic all the way to the DAC in the listening room at the other end of the house on the 2nd floor.

Eventually, the system will be moved to the 1st floor living room. Then the DAC will connect to the first Cisco switch where the Roon ROCK NUC is.

At the moment I have a Siltech Classic Legend 680i balanced set of cables on loan, with XLR/RCA adapters on the 252 end. I am considering 380i balanced cables with those adapters, to future proof myself for a post-Naim era in my HiFi life.

The only downside is I don’t have the NDX2 Zigbee remote to pause and resume Roon streams. I can get over that. The Zigbee remote failed to resume streams half the time anyway.

So it adds noise, more compression and inner groove distorsion?

New grilles in all the available colours for my qb2s. A steal at £5 a piece from a well-known retailer in the north west.

Does this sell-off mean there’s a replacement for the qb on the way?

The Qb has been discontinued for a while. No replacement appears to be on the cards, which is a real shame as they are great little things.

A lot of people who bought this wireless speaker with the intension of using it wirelessly don’t think so.

I use mine as a PC speaker using toslink. Best PC speakers I’ve ever owned. :+1:

After a week, I am very pleased with the swap from Chord Qutest to Holo Audio May. The position of individual instruments and singers on the stage has improved. Also noticeable is the improved timbre of mid to higher frequencies.

I had considered the upgrade to Chord Dave but I think the SQ of the Holo is slightly better. Aesthetically, the Holo is much better than the Chord (important for Mrs B) and the Holo is about 50% cost of the Dave.

Next week the dedicated mains line will be installed.

Yes, I’ve read some people have wifi probs with them but i’ve had no trouble at all with either of mine.

Overall I agree with HH, they are terrific little speakers. Strong WAF too!

Overall I’m still happy with it, but I agree the WiFi performance is sub-par. And that’s not even taking its price level into account.

Having said that, I do feel it’s a lot better than say a year ago. So something has improved (with 4.5.0?)

Hello Everyone - I’m a long time reader of the forum, and an account is long overdue. This is my first post.
Last week I took delivery of a 332 & 250 to replace my 10 year old 202 & 200DR.
Based on a number of posts I listened to a Linn Selekt DSM Organic with the 250, but in the end chose the 332 and 250 to go with my existing NDX2.
It was close, but in the end the musicality of the Naim pairing won through, together with the possibility of replacing the NDX2 with a 333 in the near future.
I’m currently rediscovering my music collection :slightly_smiling_face: .

A modest second system, as we all have. Just the speakers and Antipodes Oludra cost around the same as my first and only system.
Nice looking TAD :+1::cocktail_glass:
