What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2026?

Nice choice Ian, Atom is a great one box solution. What speakers are you using?

Just a pair of Monitor Audio Silver 1’s… The Atom has replaced a Marantz NR1504 which was really only doing stereo amp duties with a Sonos Port, and acting as a small HDMI switch. So I’ve brought an HDMI switch out of ā€˜retirement’ and connected the TV ARC to the Atom. Took a while for the handshaking to figure it all out, but all working now and the Atom is a significant step up in SQ. Probably need to address the speaker cables, but for now enjoying the new SQ whilst working.

Just bought a Naim Dac V-1 at an incredibly good price to replace my Qutest and I’m absolutely delighted with the sound.

Bit of a bargain aren’t they. I’m very pleased with mine, also into a SN3.

Anniversary Edition DL-103 MC/headshell combo. A nice touch for the rest of my Denon 3000NE series gear. Nothing earth shattering though…. :slightly_smiling_face:

I think the wiring for the channels has been mixed up! :slightly_frowning_face:

In my opinion, all these modern DACs have added little to the sound, and this ā€œoldā€ DAC remains the champion! For me personally, it definitely outperforms the Qutest.

Just put in a Nordost Tyr 2 to work with Nordost Frey 2 on Marantz SA10.

What can I say? Brilliant soundstage, improved bass and mids and very sweet top end. Sounds incredible!

Used purchase. Musicworks G4 used incoming next week!

Not my last purchase but last but one, an ifi PowerX supply for my NP5. After nearly a month listening, I am confident that it has given a not massive but significant uplift in SQ. Now just waiting for the Linn Silver XLRs to turn up.

Just giving my own new Humminguru a spin and tbh I’m not 100% on it.

It doesn’t seem to want to get rid of dirt on Sh records! Dust goes OK, apart from the run out groove.

Bought primarily for ā€˜auto’ function, i.e. to sit back and let it do it’s thing rather than the manual nature of the Okki Nok but it does seem a bit lightweight!

Seems like I’ll still need to give records a spin on the Okki Nok first, or at least give them some manual cleaning first and light brushing after, which kind of stuffs the point…

What about something like a spinclean manual machine for pre cleaning then the humminguru.

Another NPX 300 power supply for my 333.

That’s me done now.

I’ll experiment with just giving the record an initial wipe down with the L’Art su son mix.

There’s no doubt the records do leave the Humminguru with some added sonic sparkle, so will persevere…

Have you tried the longest auto setting- 10 mins duration, I think?

Hi Rick,

I have 333/332/300(on the 333) and am thinking of a second NPX300, but it would go on the 332.

May I ask what the addition of the second NPX300 did for SQ in your system?

Reduce your bank account! :frowning:

Rest assured, I know that bit!
