Christmas gift (in advance) from my wife ![]()
Very curious to install it…
Running my Node to a Chord Qutest. BluOS is lovely and the player is a joy to use. I have not used the internal DAC. How are you wiring yours?
Oh, and make sure you to ‘help’ and ‘upgrade’.
I wouldn’t worry. Mr Tibbs is just being mischievous.
I’ve invested in a top of the range lead to connect the Aria to my Supernait. For some silly reason I was only considering RCA to RCA leads, probably because I’d been connecting the Rega’s leads to the Supernait’s RCA Phono connection. But then it struck me: why not get a RCA to Din lead, as I’d no longer be able to use the Phono input? So when I was at my dealer’s picking up the Apheta yesterday I also bought a Naim RCA to Din lead, a bargain at £115 and a very manageable 1m long. Can’t go wrong.
I really hope to enjoy it! I’ll use wifi. What do you mean with “help”?
Bottom of the main page on the BluOS app - ‘Help’.
thanks!
Do I see ballnutters or something more sophisticated?
NAC52 and Supercap incoming, both late models and fresh from a factory service so very happy and looking forward to reorganising the rack to get them in
I’d be keen to hear your thoughts on the internal DAC after having only used the qutest, if you’ve the time and inclination. atb Bud
I’ve been enjoying mine no end. One of my favorite features is the alarm function, allows setting of presets/favorite playlists to start at chosen time, so we use it to wake to in the mornings.
One feature missing though is the sleep function via a remote. I would have to take a phone or ipad to bed to set a sleep timer.
If you have an Alexa enabled device, you could enable the Blue Voice skill and say ‘Alexa, ask Blue Voice to stop/pause’. I’ll check today if one can pause or stop after 30min or longer.
Picked up another one of these on a half price sale thanks to Black Friday.. now with dual sw’s I should have a more even lower frequency audio projection - if I get the placement right.
Ought to assist with music featuring contra bass if nothing else…
But then the ‘mericans will know my bedroom habits
No Alexa or dot type devices here.
I was not really looking for a DVD/Blu-ray player but then this one came up for sale, a used Cambridge Azur 751BD in almost new condition. Used about 80 hours since it was new according to the previous owner, which may very well be true. It seems like a very good machine and the price was right, so why not. There will still be DVDs and blu ray discs with concerts in my collection to play on occasion..
I fully understand the concern
I have, however, been thinking about a solution and there may be one in using a smart plug with a timer that either switches off at around bedtime or allows a IFTT quick command from your home screen on your phone/tablet.
For context - I use the sonoff wifi switches for lighting etc.,
Hi, its not a major concern its just something I thought I’d mention. I have three nodes for multi room downstairs and use a programmed remote for each. I was thinking of two more for the main bedrooms but not having a single button on a remote is the only fault that I’ve found with the node. That of course is specific to my usage, but I guess others may have the same need for convenience. Meanwhile the squeezebox’s will remain in service in the bedrooms.
That is a magnificent phono stage
Second 555ps for the nd555. Seems really quite good (three days after turning on)
