I just ordered a REL S/510 should have it next week. I have a smaller REL T7/i but its a little small since I moved into a bigger room.
Witch Hat Audio SBS-1 Moonlight Amp
It gives me an opportunity to move away from an integrated and on to separates, I’ll be keeping my eyes open for a NAC 82
shahinian super elf, strictly on ikea stand.
the best speakers I’ve ever had.
they replace the harbeth p3esr.
An olive Supercap for the 82, boy it’s a heavy beast !
Ummm if you mean because they have 6 sides and a single cone then yes.
The Omegas are designed to work with fleapower as low as 2wpc and are a partner for my new 10w tube amp. The aren’t slanted. Use low pressure bass reflex loading to allow near wall placement, and use a single 8 inch full range driver that has no crossover.
In the review I was referring the Audio Alto R101 are driven by a 4 watts tubes amp.
Last bit of “gear”? Ooh, I gave that up years ago, even stopped smoking tobacco… ![]()
IGMC.
I guess I knew that one day it would come down to this when I got the CD5i in Janurary. So a nice ex-dem 5Si to accompany the CD player! I was a bit surprised to hear the difference between this and the Rega Brio-R which was driving my P3ESR until now. Much more grip and control.
(Also got a Rega Fono MM, a nice step up from Brio’s MM too!)
Just looked them up, fascinated to read what you think about them.
If I remember you were getting a small Luxman valve ? Should go really well with that
Yup Luxman SQ-N150 tube amp and D-N150 CD/DAC to go on my 40cm wide midi Quadraspire for a dinky little system.
The Omegas come in a truly mind boggling array of finishes. I was tempted by sun bleached driftwood or cedar, or even a dyed sage green poplar. My wife was pushing very hard for them in dyed purple poplar which I was having trouble getting to grips with. Fun for a temporary flat, but if I love the speakers, I’m stuck with them in purple. If I hate them, I’m stuck trying to sell them… in purple.
Walnut it is then!
It looks as if you will have real synergy with that combo
Very impressed
As I have said before , I really don’t feel any twinges of jealousy for huge banks of black boxes, where I get envious is the systems (like yours and Linton’s) where it has been assembled with care and (dare one say it? Style)
Auralic Vega G2.1 DAC . I’m in a bit of a Naim void product and budget wise now the 272 is no more with no replacement in sight . I sadly missed out on a Vega G2 Ex dem at Xmas after a very successful home dem . I subsequently tried to buy a new one in February but there was no stock . Thankfully my patience has paid off and I have an updated version . The G2.1 has a slightly updated chassis which is beautifully finished.
Early days but very positive so far .
Got a second hand Hicap today👍
Great system. Enjoy and try to avoid the temptation to aim for the full stack!
Roger
Thanks ! Well I have a 2 box max which led to the Vega so the only temptation might be the Aries G2 at some point not that that I’m in any rush , the Vega is very capable solo as you know
.
Just picked up a 52/SC to replace 82/SC. Looks almost the same but sounds very different, so much better.
Congratulations
This was just a matter of time after Fraim went in.
I just re stacked Fraim and pulled the 52 of… this is a holy piece of equipment.
Which serial does your amp have.
Had the 82 for demo and did not like it - preferred my 72. 52 is a different ballgame… so much better
