What was the last CD you bought

2 recent cd I picked up one from a 60s band and one from the 80s. The Monkees As and Bs collection with the original singles mixes mostly mono and The Beat at the BBC live, The Beat studio albums were all well recorded with good sound quality and music and are worth seeking out.

I have this album in 24-Bit 96 kHz. Stunning album and mastering.

I think Ms Krall sets very audio high standards for her recordings .

Since last year, I have found her music very listenable.

Ellington ‘55 is spectacular, try Rockin In Rhythm then if you have streaming check out Weather Report’s version, I actually came to Ellington from Weather Report

Haha! I came to Ellington from Steely Dan (East St. Louis Toodle-Oo).

When I heard Horace Silver’s Song for my Father I also knew I’d heard that riff before!

Thanks Steve, I have a few Ellington albums my current favourite is “Mood Indigo”, what a hugely talented man!

He was the first non-classical composer to be featured on Radio3 Composer of the Week too.

Following some recommendations on the Forum and from other sources bought these CDs during my recent trip to Cardiff and Cheltenham.

I also have bought others and fly back to Portugal tomorrow to start listening to a rather eclectic mix of music that will be added to my music library. Can’t wait (20 degrees day time temperature also awaits).

I’ve been looking for this box set at a reasonable price for some time, thanks to the good people at Flashback Records London I now have a copy. A 6 CD set of the Speciality Records sessions that produced all of Little Richard’s hits and beyond. Very informative booklets, LR was my first musical hero, actually Tommy Steele was but I don’t usually mention that error of judgment. Having an older brother I was steeped in all things Rock’n Roll and even saw LR live in 1961 at Kingston Granada cinema!
