I’m glad to hear I’m not the only cheapskate around here! Toast and marmalade is my regular breakfast, so I eat it most days, and I keep on returning to Tesco’s own brand thick cut, 60p a jar. The posher stuff - at least the more expensive stuff that makes its way into every supermarket in the UK such as Frank Coopers or Tiptree - just doesn’t really taste better for perhaps 3 times the price.
Then again, I did find a rather nice one made by our local farm shop recently:
