No - I may be wrong but certain items such as external power supplies were generally usable with newer iterations of the brand but probably can’t be repurposed in that way with the newer products. Other items are usable with newer ones using expensive adapter leads.

My main example is a SupercapDR I bought a few years ago planning to use it with a NAC 252 instead of a SNAXO 242, once I upgraded from NAC 282 to NAC 252. Yes I’d then need to decide what to use to power the SNAXO 242. My understanding is that the Supercar DR can’t be used with the New Classic preamps so an upgrade path for new has been lost.

Not constantly releasing new products to me is a sign of strength… I’d be worried if we constantly saw a drip drip of new similar products. The Naim portfolio is quite small.
I note some top end products from other manufacturers exist for 10 years or more.. if they are good they don’t need to be replaced continually.
Now if parts were in short supply, and so production was not possible, and no new replacements with available parts appeared, that would be worrying,

Is a CD Player in the pipeline for Naim, or is it purely speculation, it’s amazing what you hear on the grapevine?

There’s a lot hear that would hope that’d be true.

There’s a thread specifically on that subject (will Naim ever make). But AFAIK there has been no indication whatsoever from Naim that they will, or are even considering.

If, by ā€˜the grapevine’ you mean whatever speculation AI has scraped from this forum and elsewhere, and presented as fact, Naim have probably got a dozen new CD players about to be released onto the market, along with a time machine, a couple of cassette decks and a flying pig.

I have no interest in AI whatsoever, how’s about bringing back the Graphic Equalizer from the 70s, now that was really iconic

Yes, but only if it has the little lights on the sliders and the LED VU meters that bounce up and down.

Preferably blue.

If Naim made one, it would have to be retro green, no?

What the hell were NAIM doing when they put white on logo, awful

Personally I wasn’t that keen on the Classic green lights. I prefer the neutral white, and it can’t clash with other colours in a room. I also like the fact that they can be dimmed. The green was far too bright.

Think we’ve done the merits of the colours to death.

I never found the green clashed given the size of the logos. I’m no fan of the white as it’s like having your eyes drilled. However, being able to dim, turn off or simply not have in the first place is a huge selling point for many. Manufacturers are so keen to say ā€œthis is usā€ that this often gets lost.

Suppose that dimmable is a good selling thing, don’t suppose there could be mood lights so you could choose your own colours, that might be a bit tacky though
