Hi I am new to forum, can anyone help from where can i order this nac 32.5 325/4 used or new online?
it messed up i cant find it anywhere online, any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
Welcome to the forum. Short of having your Naim dealer ask the factory whether there are any spare boards still left at the factory, your best bet would be to ring round some of the longer standing dealers and see whether they have an old 325 board (switching relay, switch-on output delay) going spare. Otherwise it’s a case of keeping eye out on sites such as eBay and the like.
Good day
Dear aadil
You use the Hi-CAP for your 32.5 or you connecting 32.5 on to NAP amplifier?
32.5 need a two lines +24v
NAP have only one line +24v
And if you have only NAP amplifer you need original Naim stub for split two lines +24v on one line
Stub installed on back side in din socket
thanks for the response, actually my first issue i am residing in Pakistan, and here there almost no naim service center or stores from where i can check it, if you can help me in this regard and check from local stores? i cant find it anywhere online
I’m afraid I don’t know of any Naim stores in Pakistan, and a quick search on the website doesn’t bring up any distribution there. So you’ll need to ask around stores in the UK or online auction sites.
I am powering my pre with NAP 140 power amp, no hicap for now, can you explain the 24v concept in simpler form as i am new to naim audio
I have searched most of online stores/sites and couldn’t find it anywhere for now
You’ll need to be patient and keep an eye on the usual sites then.
I can try explain
When you connecting NAC32.5 and NAP110 with Naim interconnect cable you need install Naim stub in to hicap din socket on back side panel
It’s a small round black device installed in right hicap din socket on your NAC32.5
Many former Naim NACs owners are lost stubs
More commonly known as a 5 pin DIN link plug.
Correct Richard
When I connecting my system the new NAC32.5 and NAP110 after NAC42 in 2017 year I not have any sound too
After that I connecting NAC42 + NAP110 and sound is working
Wow wow wow…
Put in left hand NAC42 and put NAC32.5 to right I find din socket for HI-CAP on NAC32.5
Ohhh
I forgot about din plug
and my NAC32.5 is not have this when I buy him
previous owner use the HI-CAP
About two weeks I find the original Naim plug for my 32.5
I think AJGen and you are talking about the SNAIC connection which provides signal as well as power to naim pre, right? can you show picture what you guys are talking about?
as mentioned before i have NAC 32.5 and it doesn’t have input connectors like you do. So i am currently powering my pre with NAP 140 with SNAIC 4 pin cable.
what is the purpose of this plug?
The plug is fitted to the 240 degree DIN5 on the NAC32.5 when you power the pre-amp directly via the single-rail supply of a suitable Naim power amp. When you upgrade by connecting up a HICAP to the NAC32.5 to dedicate power, you remove the link plug and connect a SNAIC5 between pre and PSU. The PSU provides a dual rail 24V DC supply via the SNAIC, which also takes the pre-out signal back into the power supply. You then take the pre-out signal from the PS to the power amp via one of the three DIN 4 signal outs.
quite a work, i have some questions? what will happen if I don’t use this plug? secondly how much sound quality is improved if I use a hicap with this setup? thirdly which is most suitable hicap for these CB NAC 32.5 and NAP 140?
If you don’t have the link plug fitted to the NAC32.5 when powered directly to a suitable Naim power amp then the pre-amp won’t work.
If you power the NAC32.5 with a dedicated HICAP then you don’t need the link plug (the SNAIC 5 uses that socket anyway).
A HICAP is a a nice upgrade but it will ask much more of the source, and no HICAP is better than one in need of a service.
You can use any HICAP, but it all looks right and best with a Chrome Bumper one.
If one of these is not fitted when trying to power the nac from the nap, it don’t work. Simple. Your nac should hace with one either fitted or wedged into the polystyrene of the packaging. They can be bought easily from a naim dealer. But shoukd be part of the nac purchase. No plug, no work.
