Long cable (25 meters) from Router to 222, BJC cat6.
Short cable (3 meters) from Core to Router: BJC cat6a (more lively sound) or Catsnake 6a (more control and perhaps refinement), depending on the mood.
The interesting point about myself and @GraemeH comparison of BJC and Catsnake ethernet cables, in a 300 system. Is the loudspeakers used by both of us. I use PMC Twenty5 26i, whereas GraemeH is using ATC SCM20ASL, if Iāam correct. Now these two brands of loudspeaker manufacturers, usually bring out differing polarised views between owners. However, in this case myself and my counterpart both agree on the outcome, when comparing the aforementioned ethernet cables.

FWIW, I donāt think the cable from Core to router matters one iota as long as itās certified.
Hi, canāt explain why, but it matters as also changes the sound in an obvious way.
I also have a short BJC cat6 and it sounds similar but not the same as the BJC cat6a.
I believe the BJC cables, being certified, for me are a safe option. They sound better than ācheaperā cables, long and short, that i tried.

Ethernet cables, at least for me, are not an happy subject, i hate these experiments.
I wonāt try anything else, BJC give me peace of mind.
Now ā¦ if Naim came out with an ethernet cable

My understanding is that Naim donāt recommend the use of āboutiqueā ethernet cables, and just use standard IT grade cables in their listening room. Iām not sure how true this is, but Iāve seen it referenced in more than one place.

I donāt recall reading that Naim donāt recommend boutique ethernet.
The Naim listening room has very ordinary looking ethernets that I noticed on my visits.
I had a chat about ethernet last time, they said they might (would like) get something like Chord C-Stream to tidy it up and to use at shows.
Meanwhile Iām sticking with my conformance tested MeiCords and BJC

I think the last time I was down at the factory I noticed some Chord cables used for streaming. Nothing mentally expensive but certainly not stock.
The searching question isnāt whatās used in the factory itās whatās used on the staffās systems at home. I know of at least one Chord Music user.
I think the last thing a manufacturer is going to do is say that if you really want to hear how good our system can sound invest Ā£5k in an ethernet cable, hence the sensibility settings at the factory.

Yes granted there are commercial reasons why a manufacturer might choose to demonstrate their equipment with bog standard cables rather the specialist audiophile ones. As you say it is telling what their employees might actually use at home.
Itās an odd thing to say in a way. One wonders why, if they would like it, they havenāt just purcahsed it. C Stream hardly costs the earth. Perhaps the petty cash box has run low?
Unsurprising as RF noise as influenced by network cables interacts with the DAC not the speakers.
