Which integrated amp for ndx and proac response 2.5 speakers

For a second system for my son , i have a spare ndx and proac response 2.5 speakers. Looking for a good integrated naim amp for upto gbp 1500 to complete the system! What would work well with the proacs?

Simplz, Any of the Supernaits, they can be found at that kind of price on the used market, excellent and good match for the Proacs.

What about the Nait 2, 3 , 5 , si series? I have no knowledge or experience with these .

Thinking visual matching
Supernaits 1, 2,& 3 and NDX all have the same 87mm high case size
The Naits are 70mm

Plus the Supernaits are better suited power wise to get the best out of the Proacs

I have SN3 with my Response 2,5 speakers.
They sound good with my old, little Cyrus 2 also.
Cables are Linn K20 (= Naca4)

Thanks everyone for the SN recommendation am actively looking for one . One seller who had a SN3 but sold it some time ago recommended the Nait50 ? Thoughts ?

Unlike a Supernait, Nait 50 does not include System Automation, this enables volume, on/off and input switching on the streamer control point (iOS or Android smartphone or tablet)

I ran a set of 2.5’s with 2xNAP135’s for a while and thought these struggled in terms of drive .. so as long as he doesn’t need “loud” he’ll be fine … nicely balanced and detailed sound though ..

Hi ,

Q -given my son uses Spotify mainly , would the volume controls through the app not work ? As its heavily discounted the n50 is attractive and available at naim dealers and SQ seems to be at par with SN3 based on some threads on this community

It depends on whether the app offers system automation for the N50. I suspect it might be available if he is connecting an NDX BUT I could be totally wrong.

The nait 50 does not support system automation. If you want to change the volume you rotate the volume control by hand.

Don’t let the absence of that or a remote put you off. If you can manage with 2 line inputs and an mm phono stage, it’s an ideal match.

I ran a NaitXS 2 with a pair ProAc D2R speakers and ran a SN 2 with a pair of ProAc D30RS speakers. Still have the ProAc D30RS speakers with my current system configuration.

No the Nait 50 does not have any remote functions, volume is manual.
Plus with only 25W, I would be concerned how well it would drive the Proacs

Before upgrading to the series 300, I had the SN3 and NDX2. Sounded great and SA worked well too.

Yes ndx 2 is really good , in my main system I have an NDX2 with xpsdr, 282/250 dr , hicaps and driving proac d40r floorstanders. Sounds great. As i now have the old ndx and proac 2.5 which i absolutely love, looking to complete the system and keep it in the family :sweat_smile:
