Which wine are you drinking? Tell us about it

Probably should be laying this unbelievably refined Chardonnay down but I can‘t really take it on my travels so we‘ll just enjoy it.

It would be rude not to…

Lots of green apple, oak nicely restrained, mineral finish. A perfect fresh and crispy enjoyment in the evening sun and an ambient temperature of 25 degrees

We had a couple of glasses of this with dinner.

From the Luberon and very nice too. Interestingly it was served with trout, so who says you only drink white wine with fish? The owner of the place where we are staying in Romans-sur-Isère had two Michelin stars before he retired, and tonight he cooked just for Mrs HH and myself. Perfect.

After last night’s exceptionally good tasting of Cape Winemakers Guild auction wines, back home again and opened a bottle of Chris Alheit’s single vineyard semillon. Franschoek has some of South Africa’s oldest and best semillon vineyards and this one is world famous. This bottle lives up to the hype.

Well now here I am in South Australia near Adelaide staying at a place with around 90 different premium local wines :hugs:.
Which ones should I make a point of tasting, guys? Grateful for any suggestions!

That looks fab. Chris Alheit makes the Wine Society’s Exhibition Chenin Blanc which sells for around £14 and is an utter bargain.
I went to the Swig SA tasting last night and ended up buying a mixed case of Savage White 2024 ( Sauvignon and Semillon) and Savage Red 2023 (Shiraz). Duncan Savage is such a lovely bloke and these two wines I thought were both absolutely extraordinary wines - easily the best 2 wines of the tasting and worth the money

Tried a few wines this evening. It was slightly hit and miss but Poonawatta wines from Eden Valley were the discovery of the day. Liked both the Shiraz and the Grenache.

To go with the Leeuwin you recommended a few days ago - for Christmas Day , to follow the Christmas Pudding and the cheeses

Macan Clásico 2018 Rioja. A collab between Bodegas Benjamín de Rothschild and Vega Sicilia. Absolutely delicious but bizarrely tastes nothing like a Rioja!

Did some heavy research into South Australian wines last night. This one from Bekkers came up tops.

This Cab Sauv from Rockford was also seriously tasty.
