Which wine are you drinking? Tell us about it

Perhaps not for the purists … but I’m enjoying ‘drops of gods’ of Apple TV. It’s about a wine tasting competition. Apologies if it’s been mentioned before.

I enjoyed it. I see a second season is happening, I’m worried it’ll be a re-run of the first.

Billiecart Champagne FR
Ayala Champagne FR

Others preferred the Billiecart.
I thought the Ayala was very smooth, fine bubbles and a joy to drink.

M&S Primitivo. Without the sweet edge. Super label. About £10 but as I have just been advised of /awarded my Old Age Pension increase money ceases to have relevance.

Vinum divorum.

This Sherry I had put aside for Christmas, but life took over. Opened it to accompany a frittata - it put a smile on my face.

Clos des Papes, Chateauneuf du Pape 2004. I live for wines like this. After 22 years it still has this amazing freshness. Spicy, garrigue fruit. Had with a sirloin steak. Just heavenly

Perhaps a bit too cryptic? I was referencing the change that had to be made to the dialogue for the benefit of our cousins on the other side of the pond. Hannibal drank Amorone with his liver and fava beans but this wine was not thought to be well known enough in the USA, so was changed to “Chianti” for the film.

I hope not too cryptic @MarkL3w.

This wine brings up wonderful memories.

In a corner of my mind there is a post I sent when you were walking from Monaco to Nice (it was you?).

What restaurant/wine you had in Nice? Can you share?

Rafael

That was me but it was 4 years ago so I can’t remember the wine!
