Who hasn't bought any new kit in 2025 yet?

We always have threads about people buying kit, whether new or new to them, upgrading, moving sideways or to a lower box number.

I have realised that so far this year I haven’t bought any hi-fi. I have bought music and spent money and the house and garden. The system is sounding great, and whilst I sometimes think I could change something, it never gets beyond idle speculation. So at the moment I am happy to be a “stick with what I have got person”.

Who else is in this position?

Or are you sticking with your current set up for another reason?

No plans or money to change anything anytime soon. I will have to replace the CD5XS one day and maybe the SF Concerto’s will deteriorate over time and need replacing but, otherwise, I am all good.

I have bought and serviced a pair of CB 135’s but haven’t installed them yet.
I would like to upgrade my Auralic streamers in my second system but need to sell some of my existing spare kit first. It is looking increasingly unlikely that I shall be taking the car over to the UK this year, so I think I may have no changes at all for 2025.

no purchases but i have moved my speakers further from wall - huge improvement in soundstage - and a free upgrade. also built diy sound diffusers for first reflection points - made from recycled pallets so again a free upgrade. but i suspect this isn’t going to last for remainder of year - just can’t decide between options

I haven’t bought anything since I got the ND555 about 5 years ago, but if the house purchase goes through I will have a new listening room later in the year.

Changed speakers and moved to system 300 and Luxman CDP. Maybe an NPX300 in 2026. Maybe not. Things sound very good without the power supplies.

If I read it correctly … this is a thread for those who HAVEN’T bought anything this year. Is nowhere sacred?

Inventory 2025: … less: Inventory 2024 … there’s your answer

I haven’t bought any new kit or tweaks since upgrading. It’s nice to be satiated and not constantly chasing some elusive sound. My current system is the sweet spot for SQ and value (for me) and I’ll not likely change it. I concede I have a mild interest in the 350s and have space for them but I’ve never seen them in the s/h markets and don’t pay much attention anyway so not likely to happen. The 250NC has plenty of dynamics and authority for my use. So I’ll likely stay put until I downsize in the coming years.

Nothing yet but am considering a new music server - Roon ready. Build your own is the direction I’m thinking.

Nothing purchased here, but did dispose of all my audio equipment! Well apart from our Cambridge Evo One!

Nothing this year.
Nothing last year.
Nothing related to the Naim system since 2016.

Nothing here neither. No plans to either . Just blew £600 on a laptop out of necessity and rather than spend hundreds more on cables etc making tiny differences, i will have some teeth whitening done instead, so i can smile again with confidence.

Nothing since Townshend Podiums last year.

No new kit, neither brand new nor just new to me, and whilst I can’t predict the future I have no plans or expectation for any ever again unless something dies. It is hard to imagine better, and if it is possible it likely would cost more than the incremental improvement is worth.

I have not bought anything else since the Nait 50-ProAcTab10 Sig which works a treat with my Chord HugoTT2 and MacBook Pro running Roon. I especially love this rig for YouTubeTV and YouTube which plays some great sounding free live music on video/TV. It is like an instant party I can carry on the front seat of my car! I have been tempted by a Summer Time cable upgrade sale but I am resisting for a while longer.
