Why DAP?

What would be the sonic advantage of using a DAP with my Lev’ 5909’s over my Android smartphone with a AQ Dragonfly Red with Dragontail adapter?

Can I assume that because it’s down to the firm/software, it wouldn’t make any difference when using Bluetooth with aptX Adapter or LDAC codec (unless there’s some unicorn fairy dust involved of course)?
