Widget in Naim app

Works fine on my iPad Pro.

And did you add the Naim widget before iOS 17?

I’m not certain when I added the widget.

I suspect you had to have added the widget in ios16 or before, for it to still show and work

I run iOS 17 - no chance to add the widget

The Naim widget isn’t a proper widget in the iOS sense. Naim should tweak it, so you can actually display it on your homescreen. It’s not that difficult, Apple provides the necessary how-to.

Yeah don’t hold your breath lol.

The Naim widget used to work for me with all versions of iOS 17 on a IPhone 15 pro and 13 pro. Now with the new iOS 18 the widget is not available at all on both devices.

Yes, Apple has discontinued support for that older generation of widgets in i(Pad)OS 18.

It’s been broken for me in iOS 17 and is just the same on 18. Edit: this is on my phone- I really hope they update the widget and I can have it either on my Lock Screen or Home Screen that left hand panel isn’t much less clicks than the app

Hi there. Having similar problems here. I updated today both my iPhone 13 and my iPad Air 3rd Gen to iOS18 and PadOS18, respectively, and there is no widget available anymore. Until version 17 of both OS, the widget was on the left screen of the home screen. Although not the proper widget that was still available until version 14, at least it allowed you to see the song/artist and to play/pause and control the volume at a glance, even without unlocking the phone. It was very handy! It was already a shame that with iOS15 and PadOS15 we lost the proper widget, but at least we had this other “hidden” widget. Please Naim, we need your usual care for your customers and develop a fully functional widget again. Many thanks in advance!!!

Good that you still have it. So then you cannot update to iOS18 as I did today. It disappeared after updating the iOS on both my iPhone and iPad… I miss it already…

Oh no, widget gone! Grrrr

Ah that’s a shame, thanks for the warning!

Hi all

Since update to iOS 18 the naim widget has been removed from the iPhone.
Could I please request naim/focal to add the widget option back to the iPhone. I use(d) it daily to alter my volume.

Same here. Especially annoying since Roon also doesn’t have a pure native iOs app and therefore can’t do widgets, I was relying on the quick Naim widget on my phone off screen to adjust the volume/play/pause/next. Now I have to open the phone, open one of the apps (Roon or Naim) and take action. Harmony is also gone (which was to be expected for a discontinued product), so we are left with this cumbersome workflow.

How about using the remote?

You can enable lock screen control in Roon. Look in settings-set up-lock screen controls.

Of course. But when music is on, and I am behind a stove in the kitchen for example and kids come in, I am bound to have my phone on the counter, not the remote.

Also, we were used to the feature already and now it’s gone with the iOs update because Naim used a now obsolete app coding. Could be fixed easily.

Ah yes, forgot about that, but that’s only for play pause right, not volume? The lock screen control. Volume through device volume buttons is not very safe.
