Wimbledon 2026

21:56 Tuesday. Centre court.

Advance Australia fair. :clap::clap::clap:

Wow. Still at just little old me.

Something to do with that soccer thing that’s apparently going on, I guess.

Dimitrov vs Berrettini later this PM, great to see both still in there despite the injuries.

My wife’s only sporting TV interest. We have watched several good matches together this week, mostly women’s singles which seem to have become more watchable lately. Not too much screaming either.

We were seriously cheering on Maya Joint vs Serena Williams. We found the idolatry of the latter to the exclusion of the actual winner very annoying. The media coverage the next day barely named Joint at all. I note Serena declined to be interviewed after the match as she had `tweaked her knee’. She barely acknowledged Joint as she walked off. Bad loser if you ask me.

Joint was delightful, shame she lost next round.

We are missing Alcaraz, brings such energy and enthusiasm. Not sure who to root for in the men’s singles. Just not Djokovic I am afraid.

Perhaps Jehovah was on a tea break.

Looks like Swiatek is really off colour today. She’s blowing it.

Well well. Not only is there a Brit in the fourth round, but he actually looks a bit handy.

Gutting for Dimitrov, but what a result for Fery!

Epic!

Incredible achievement from Fery in both his matches, I really thought Dimitrov was going to trounce him but evidently not!

Expect to do all of the laundry, washing up, sandwich making, dusting etc for the next few days then.

Well done Fery. He is a nice polite lad, which is great to see. The way he is and plays reminds me of Henman.

Yesterday’s match wasn’t the best quality. Individual shots were generally good, but strategy wasn’t and Cobolli didn’t play good at all. Lots of poor lobs, poor smashes and generally unnecessary play which should have been finished 2-3 shots earlier. I do think Fery has had one of those runs through this tournament where one has nothing to lose, no pressure and fearless. He’s obviously a very talented lad. Becker and Ivanišević had a similar run.

The problem with commentary is that they always gasp in awe and praise a winning shot. They ignore a preceding shot in the point which was far more impressive i.e. Cobolli rushed to the net and made a winning drop shot. The commentary goes wild, the crowd go wild, the replay is replayed a few times of the drop shot, but Fery’s backhand to make Cobolli run in was the incredibly difficult and more impressive shot. If you know, you know.

Yes. Fery will need a class PR and Optic Coach in his team in the future.
All this “I can’t believe it” will seem a bit Kevin and Perry precocious teenager like.
He needs to step up and own it.

I had the Gauff vs a.n.other semi on radio 5live yesterday. I say that because the commentary barely mentioned her opponent, just gushed over Gauff. Who lost. It was really annoying.

Two potential crackers in the men’s semis today.

We avoid watching her, she’s a disgraceful person

Apparently, he’s been relaxing by watching The Godfather, which allegedly contains all the life advice a man needs.

I take it what you’re saying is, he should go to the mattresses. :collision:

Fery. Sunk.

Simmer just immaculate. I never felt Djokovic would get back. Looked like he knew it too.

Wowee. The guys are going to have to work hard to turn in an equally thrilling match tomorrow.

Czech it out.

These guys trading body blows and we’re only one set in
