My U.S. 120V XPS-DR has blown a fuse. I have replaced it using the spare found in the fuse carrier.
Is this the correct replacement: LITTELFUSE 0218005.MXP 5X20 MM, 250 VAC, 5A, FUSE, SLO-BLO (it’s from Amazon U.S.)

Littelfuse is the brand supplied by Naim dealers
The fuse rating for both UK and US voltages is written on the back of the unit near the fuse holder.
Thanks, yes, I know it’s on the back – T5AL/250V – but that’s not entirely my question.
In other threads @Richard.Dane noted the specific part number that Naim uses, but it was for the UK spec, which at 240V is different.
So my question remains, is the one I noted above a correct one to get?
Why do u think the fuse blew?
David
It blew when I powered it on. It worked fine a few days ago. I believe XPS have a reputation for blowing fuses during power-on. It’s the first time it happened to me though. It seems fine now, but I’d like to make sure I have backup fuses. I used the one backup it already had in the fuse panel.
Honestly, I have given some thought to selling it and using the NDX2 bare, as I had it to begin with. I rarely use it anymore. I play vinyl 95%+ and could use the funds towards the vinyl setup (e.g. better phono cables). Then I’d be down to five boxes and might go to a single Fraim rack, to make room for a HRS EXR stand for the phono-stage and turntable.
JDP, apart from it being a T fuse from Littelfuse, I don’t know the exact part number - best to contact Naim who could confirm or otherwise, unless another member here has a relatively new XPS DR and can read what it says on the spare.
No. Your xps needs a higher rated fuse in terms of current in the US. Likely to be double that used in the UK.
The fuse rating for 110v (USA) is T5AL
T = Slow Acting (Trage)
A = Amperes
L = Low Breaking Capacity
Right. It’s 5A vs 2.5 for the UK.
We use the 213 series.

Neil.
Thanks Neil. Is the one I listed OK to use? My dealer doesn’t have spares from Naim on hand.
Yes it will be fine, the 218 series is a bit “less slow blow” than the 213, so not unsafe.
They might be more prone to blowing though (obviously).
Regards
Neil.
Thank you. I ordered 10. If I blow them all then something else is wrong.
I found them online (not Amazon). This is the U.S. spec then, in case anyone ever needs to do a search for that answer.
0213005.MXP FUSE GLASS 5A 250VAC 5X20MM
One other question @NeilS. Are these fuses directional in Naim’s view?
Yes - the end cap with the rating on it should be at the bottom of the holder.
Regards
Neil.
OK. Thanks. When I get my spares and put on back in the carrier spare slot I’ll double check the position.
Xps likes to eat fuses.
It’s interesting that never happened to me before. I don’t leave it on all the time. I just power it on when I want to stream from Qobuz via Roon.
