Could someone recommend a reliable way to assist my rc unit talk to my amp… Which is partially obscured by a sofa? Can I use an external sensor connected to the rc socket on the rear?
You could try an IR remote repeater.
I use an IR repeater to control my TV and Sat box but I thought it would be a step too far to try to use it to control my 52.
You can also bounce IR off reflective surfaces.
I have the mains system to the side and behind where I normally sit. I aim the remote at the wall straight ahead and I can usually get it to bounce so it operate the system.
