Your listening position preference

I’m in the part preference, part practicality situation.
I don’t particularly enjoy near field listening, preferred seats at most concerts are just behind the half way point. Front row, head in the bass bins brings no pleasure at all and with orchestral concerts I like to see the players as well.
At home there is only one room, mobility issues take precedence and across the room a 2 metre by 0.4 metre chimney breast rather gets in the way of speaker positioning.
Therefore it’s length of the room, speakers 1.8 metres apart and the back of the settee/sofa/couch is at 3.8 metres. The sweet spot is at 2.8 metres, but that has the little problem of not being able to open the door!

Indeed there are many threads and yes I do know that I could squeeze out a bit more performance with room treatments etc. but it is a home, not a dedicated listening room. To my ears it sounds very good and I am not a tweaker.
