Ideally, with your system a 555PSDR will show what the NDX2 can really do.
With a 52 and 2 x 135s you need a better source, which the power supply mentioned will do.
No I spent the whole night playing music it just seems like it was a couple of tracks at the beginning and I am enjoying the rest but it seems to have opened up but in a good way. Still loving it. Playing Jethro tulls 1st album (Steven Wilson’s remix) sounds sublime to me! ![]()
Hi @Paul.B Has anyone flagged artwork not showing on streamers (I have an NDX2) when tracks are being played via a Uniti-Serve SSD as a result of the new firmware update? This has been happening to me since I updated the firmware on my NDX2. If I play music from any other source, including directly from the NAS, the cover art appears, but the moment I start using the Uniti-Serve the cover art disappears. I have submitted a Customer Service Request to Westan here in NZ, who said they have referred it to Naim.
Thanks, I have done all of that and have even re-scanned the Store a few times. Nothing seems to work.
Good luck with getting it sorted! Hopefully Naim can track it down quickly.
I upgrade last night.. the biggest difference I heard ‘out of the box’ so to speak was with the vocals. I was listening to Kacey Musgrave [try it] Slow Burn from the album Golden Hour .. Completely blown away, how is that even possible.
Looking forward to see how it evolves over the next few days..
Just upgraded. The music mellowed, it’s more organic, less tense. Wonderful change of sound direction, thank you Naim wizards.
Just updated my HE, nice little lift quality, well done Naim
Yes, yes, yes!
Spot on, Iain.
I just got home from a trip to Tibet and downloaded 3.12.
Day 2 of playing and the system sounds amazing.
This Keith Jarrett Trio recording is so much more open and alive than I’ve ever heard it.
Thank you, Naim - you are the best!
I didn’t bother trying to adapt to the firmware because it seemed to be likely that it would be a passing phase, and to be honest I’ve remained faithful to Naim since I first bought a brand new Naim system in 2004, and in the long run, they have always paid me back by reproducing music in a way that no other manufacturer can do.
Like right now I’m listening to Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life, which was one of the first albums I ever bought in the 1970s, and it sounds by far the best and most groovy I’ve ever heard it. ![]()
Yes, the realism is uncanny on my Dibbles now, e.g. on this 1992 gig by the Allman Brothers.
[To the new owners of Naim - Barco - I say please read this thread and consider what a special company you now own - it holds the key to a unique approach to audio reproduction that should be cherished and protected for the benefit of music lovers everywhere (and not only considered as a discounted cash flow entity).]
Talking of live music, maybe give this track a spin on the DBLs if you fancy something a little bit different…![]()
- Miles Davis – trumpet with Harmon mute
- Steve Grossman – tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone
- Chick Corea – Fender Rhodes electric piano with delay/fuzz pedals and ring modulator
- Keith Jarrett – Fender Contempo Organ with delay/fuzz pedals + tambourine (Fillmore East tracks only)
- Dave Holland – electric bass guitar with wah-wah pedal
- Jack DeJohnette – drums
- Airto Moreira – cuica, transverse flute, whistle, kazoo, shakers, bells, woodblock, tambourine
Funny how barely a decade ago many here would shoot down cables, switches, etc .. if someone said it changed the sound, now capacitor burn in from a firmware update ![]()
How times and peoppe change or our hearing and voices we hear ![]()
Shrill, basically tiring after 30 mins.
Foolish as you known, but then say no more.
Thanks! Great recommendation, love it. Sounds awesome with 3.12
Although I must have done something right as it all sounds so good ![]()
On same JC album “ Girl from the North Country” is my favorite on this album
Cocker’s duet with Leon Russell is sublime

Yes, maybe many of the adaptations you made will be useful in the long run, like the panels for example.
